I'm pretty sure you guys have thought of it, but why not add worlds that actually resemble the Earth, as in have everyone start in Europe and then spread out?

It would add so much more meaning to have an alliance own all of Poland then to control some random blob in the corner of a large circle.

It does not even have the be the whole world, maybe just Europe even.

How would travel times be calculated?

The same way they are now
