Battle mechanics

Postby blue moon » Sun Nov 22, 2015 8:47 pm

In the Faq the battle mechanism is described as that every time 100 soldiers willfight100 opponents.
When I try in a simulator at aussielord.com, it shows that 1 big attack is more effective than two halves.
Who knows how the mechanism works, and "bouncing"is used in many places as the best defensive tactic. Isn't bouncing just like leadingyourforces piecemeal to a grinder?

Regardless of what the FAQ says (I've not looked), battles are worked out using ratios. So add up the totals on both sides for attack vs artillery, infantry and cavalry. Defender will loose for artillery units: artillery-attack / (artillery-attack + artillery defence), the attacker's losses will be the inverse of that. So in general one big attack will be more efficient that two smaller attacks because the ratios will be more in your favour. There are some exceptions because of the 101 rule, but these are few and far between.

Bouncing means pulling your attack - or sending a defender there before the attack lands so your troops "bounce" and return home. Bouncing is something an attacker does, not a defender - although a defender can ask an attacker to bounce.
