Land Reclaim Questions

Hi all,

If the land reclaim windows means we can take castles for half the price of silver, does this mean the 500 silver gift for new players is sufficient to allow them to take their first castle?? In other words, would a new player be able to take a castle immediately at the start of play??

Further to the question above I have just selected a long range castle to attack. It is a 13 pointer in a place that gives me complete confidence it is abandoned by the owner! The battle would conclude in the set time window given but I am still required to send full silver.
Are we free to launch attacks now & safe to send just half the silver required? Will the game not tell us how much (half) to send?
Also does the half silver requirement apply to every castle on the map? If not how can we tell which castles the rule applies to?

Please could somebody clarify on the displayed silver required at time of launch, and also if the ruling also applies to "Free Castle" targets.
