are you using an android device?
As stated before, the best workaround would be to copy the uniform from someone in the alliance.

Hey,
As turd has stated, you should ask someone in the alliance to post the uniform in a forum, all you need to do then is to copy and paste them in to your name field, just edit your name into it,

Same thing happened to me on my kindle and copying from forum didnt work. Take an inactive from your alliance and change the name, keeping the symbols. Then copy and paste to your other castles.
