Attacks in server maintenance

We have a problem on aus 8 about people mostly just attacking in maintenance periods. Mass fake/real attacks get sent and people do their best to set trickles up for the 4 plus hours server maint goes on but as its on mass its practically impossible to accomplish.
Bottom line is to keep the server active, any attack that lands in server maint window should bounce.
Already people are leaving the game and its only a new server.
