Absolute joke. Basically with a city you can just walk into a castle as it takes your fancy. The skew towards spending cash ruin this game further. Free forts were bad enough and now this. There's no strategy anymore and my interest in this game wears thinner and thinner.

what the "new and improved" interface hasn't killed this cashcow will. Finishing up the server I'm on now and after that I will probably be part of a long list of people leaving this game

Amen to that. The fun element of this game is rapidly fading. The strategy has been replaced by cash spending. Not for me.

Yep, the cash cow thing is annoying. Yet I am curious and am building one (without spending gold).
Here is my question:

Once you've built a city, what is happening to your now ex-fortresses? Free fortresses?

Apparently 3of the linked forts become free forts and 1 of the linked forts become s a free castle.

I'm building one without spending gold.

Lots of players have said the skill level has decreased. I agree whole heartedly. This game is very different now to what it was when I first started playing. Castles only held 10k silver and attack coordination was done by setting an alarm clock after you had spent an hour or two planning it on paper,

Way too many wallet warriors these days.

I have done everything I can but I still don't have the city's option in my keeps. Anyone have any suggestions. All are fully upgraded and close enough. I am at a loss. How did you get the city's option in your keep?
