At WW. That's why you get into a clan with trustworthy alliance members who you can count on to suppor you. Trickle is the worst aspect of what is almost a perfect game.

It should be a situation where the fortifications take damage every round. From level 20, to 19, and so on. Once the fortifications reach level 1 and the troops attacking are enough to destroy the defending army, the castle should get taken. Therefore limiting the battle rounds to 20 and the conquering player/or successful defender should have to rebuild the fortifications just like they would have to if it were real.

Shadowlord I disagree. Rebuilding a wall after every attack would be beyond costly and time consuming

mongo the spartans had multiple advantages. Aside from training and their better equipment they had the advantage of terrain. Also people seems to forgot there was more than one greek army there

Yep, but it's but it's good sides and bad sides! If you are under attack it works like a gem but if you're attacking it's annoying.

Trickle defence is a strategy. It's not like we can stand on a field and swing a real sword at each other so we use a digital replacement of skill with different tactics. You don't have to trickle, you can just pull down your pants and watch your castles disappear while your teammates struggle to get to you in time. ;)

Well, as for realistically goes. That is the point of a castle to allow a smaller force to withstand a larger force. The best an army of 50,000 could do is starve a castle to surrender, which often happened or build seige weapons and lose a large number of forces to go over the walls or through them, often falling victim to the castles death defenses. I agree, once the wall was breached it was all over. Also, trickle forces happened as other lords sent support troops to try and break the castle blockade. Also forces fought outside the walls to drive the enemy back.

The game follows this in spirit by giving the defender the stronger advantages and allows support to be sent to that castle.

I think the better option is to add new troops like seige towers and catapults. Let them reduce the effectiveness of the castle walls by reducing the bonus gained by the walls, eventually reducing it to zero and then the troops inside would be overrun.

Ex:
Castle walls at max you get 100% defense bonus. And let's say as long as you have X number of catapults left each round the castle walls would reduce by 5%. In twenty rounds the castle defenses would not be taken into account and forces storm the castle. Even with current system the lose of walls would drastically hinder the defense of the castle.

As long as we are discussing realism in castle sieges and defense... I would like an option that allows attacking the attackers with a siege relief force. We now just send DT, whether it be a hammer or trickle. Typically, sending defensive types only. Realistically, a siege relief force would be made up of attacking types, fighting external to the fort, while the defenders just watched.
