Let's get back to wars between alliances not bloody 5-6 alliances all joining together to fight 1 alliance.

Restrict vassals to 8 per alliance , no allies just vassals then everyone knows what's happening

And, at that price 12 hours increased range is way to short to actually complete a fortress
